Here are some pics of the island of Phuket where we stayed for a couple of days during our Thailand vacay. Off from there we did some island hopping and then we visited the old town of Phuket city. That was probably the most underrated experience ever for tree reasons:
- No tourists. Yeah, def no tourists. Maybe some Chinese people here and there. It’s just not popular and crowded.
- Extremely low prices on food, massages and what ever you want.
- And the most astonishing point: It’s so beautiful and different! Look at my pics and you will know what I mean. You cannot grasp its roots and heritage because it tends to look Asian or let’s say Chinese and other parts of the town are boom!: LATIN. Looks like old Havana mixed with China. WTF??? I googled the reason of course: Back then it was occupied by the Chinese AND the Portuguese. So interesting!
We were lucky to have the whole resort to ourselves because it was around the Chinese New Year and only Chinese people were there who tend to get up sooo early and go on guided tours. So not me haha 🙂 But I warn you guys, it’s incredibly difficult to find a hotel during that time. We had to drive for hours and hours on our first night in the taxi through the jungles of whole Phuket to finally find a place to stay.
That was the island of Phuket and let’s move on to the city of Phuket 🙂 The town is not that big, you can walk everything by foot.
Hope you guys enjoyed and now you know what to expect when going to Phuket! :-*
